Robert Wells,
Managing Director, has spent a career gathering and manipulating
information as a high-technology industry analyst, business journalist
and publisher. As a consultant with Solista (since acquired by
Gartner), he assisted the global cable operator UPC
and other clients. Before that, as a principal in Lennox
Research, he researched media industry business opportunities
for various clients, principally in consumer media markets.
He assisted CableLabs for seven years, writing more
than 120 magazine articles and white papers on leading-edge
cable technology developments. His own published research
studies include Channel Compression: A Strategic Analysis
(Paul Kagan Associates), The Interactive Home (Warren
Publishing) and Cable Modem Report (English edition
by Cowles Business Media, Japanese edition by ASCII Books).
Earlier, he was a Senior Analyst and Research Director with the
Yankee Group, authoring
studies on such topics as PCs, satellite TV, electronic
commerce and cable television, speaking at industry conferences,
and personally advising such firms as American Express,
Time Inc., Toshiba, NEC and Citicorp. He earlier was a
business journalist in Detroit and Denver and business
editor of a Knight-Ridder newspaper. He
holds a bachelors degree (cum laude) in economics from
Princeton and a Masters Degree in International Studies
from Harvard.
Rod
Campbell, Chief Technology Strategist, since
receiving an engineering degree from MIT, has accumulated
over twenty years of experience in the software and information
management industries in engineering, marketing, and business
development. He has worked with such companies as IBM,
Unisys, Walt Disney Imagineering, Texas Instruments, U
S West, Sun Microsystems, Thomson Consumer Electronics,
Philips, and
others on a range of projects. Areas of expertise include
communication technologies, the Internet and intranets,
video and audio distribution, consumer electronics, multimedia
development, product development processes, competitive
research, trade show support, business plan development,
and technology analysis. He has conducted feasibility studies
and assisted in due diligence assessment projects conducted
by Lennox for more than a decade.
Alain
le Grignou, Director, European Operations, has over
20 years of experience as an executive consultant with
companies of varying size, culture and specialization. He
has assisted
major and medium-sized companies in implementing strategic
plans and large-scale change programs, has managed complex
and cross-national projects in Europe and internationally,
and has led management teams delivering significant impact
on profitability and overall company operations. His past
specific client relationships have included Cap
Gemini, France
Telecom and British Telecom. A
Paris resident, he holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Law,
Law School of Rennes, France, and Bachelor of Arts in Marketing,
Institut d’Etudes
Politiques in Paris.
Diane
Freeman,
Senior Research Analyst, has been a business researcher
and writer for 27 years. Currently, she produces regular
research reports on individual companies and business
trends for a unit of DresdnerRCM Global Investors.
A former business reporter for The Houston Post,
she has been a published author on business topics for
12 years, with her work appearing in Time, Business
Week, Money, Reuters, Institutional Investor, Parade,
HealthScout.com, Interactive Week, Telecom Business,
Wireless Week, Denver Post, Denver Rocky Mountain News,
Colorado Business, and
other trade publications. For corporate clients, she
has developed content for newsletters, brochures and
